These terms cover exileoutdoors.com, operated by Moonveil LLC. Using the site means you accept them.

What is here, and what it is for

Everything on this site is instructional material about being outdoors. It is written carefully and tested in the field, but it is general information and not a substitute for training, judgement, or local knowledge.

Fire, water, and your own judgement

This is the part that matters. Fire is regulated and conditions change: restrictions vary by district and by season, and the date we last checked is printed on every page that discusses them. Checking the current restriction before you strike anything is your responsibility, not ours. Every fire goes dead out — cold to the back of your hand — before you leave it.

Desert water and desert heat are the two things here that hurt people. Where those pages cite a medical or land-management authority, follow the authority. You are responsible for your own safety and for anyone with you, and you accept the risks of anything you choose to go and do.

Ownership

The Exile Outdoors name, the stencil wordmark and spark, and the writing, photographs and video on this site belong to Moonveil LLC. Teach the method to anyone you like — that is the entire point — but do not republish our work as your own.

The kit

The Desert Fire Kit is sold through Etsy. Purchases, shipping, returns and disputes are handled there under Etsy’s terms, not these.

Links that earn us a commission

Some gear links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy through one. It never changes what we recommend, and where our own kit competes with something we would otherwise point you at, both paths are stated plainly.

Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes get a new date at the top of this page.
